Gaurav Khanna made an appearance on Lock Upp 2 to support Akanksha Chamola, with the episode featuring a light-hearted exchange that comes amid ongoing discussions about the actress's personal life.
During their interaction, Khanna asked Akanksha if she had made any friends inside the reality show. Introducing fellow contestant Pamela, Akanksha joked, “Pam mere girlfriend hai, maine girlfriend bana le already."
Laughing off the remark, Khanna cautioned her about making such statements, suggesting that viewers often interpret them too seriously. “Maine dekh liya tera episode, aise tu bolti hai voh bahar mujhse poochte hai," he said.
The exchange follows recent comments by Shreya Kalra, who claimed that Akanksha's second lifeline involved her being bisexual.
Responding to the claim, Akanksha said, “Shreya assumed this because I have a lot of fun with everyone. I never told her from my end that I am bisexual, but it is one of my secrets. I was bisexual before marriage. I have had some relationships with girls. While they haven’t been intimate, I have been in a relationship with a few females. I like women; it is my safe space. It’s a very male-dominated world, and so you develop a comfort zone with women. I love that feminine energy. I thrive on it. In a society where people think that girls are always competing with each other and are jealous, I don’t agree. I feel I am the only one getting exposed in this game since day one."
Akanksha and Gaurav Khanna, who married in November 2016, are currently going through a separation. During the premiere episode of Lock Upp 2, Akanksha disclosed that the two had been living apart for the past 18 months and were in the process of separating.
When Khanna visited the show on Thursday, however, he clarified that no legal process had been completed. “We just discussed it, no petition was signed, nothing is official," he said, adding that they remain legally married.
