Taking a brief recess from his hectic itinerary, superstar Rajinikanth visited the Himalayas for some spiritual refreshment.
Rajinikanth went to the Swami Dayananda Ashram in Rishikesh and paid his respects to Swami Dayananda. On his visit, Thalaiva is said to have meditated along the banks of the Ganga and participated in the ancient Ganga Aarti.
After his stint at Rishikesh, the actor is said to have gone to Dwarahat. Some images of his spiritual quest have appeared on social media.
In one photograph, Rajinikanth was photographed in white attire, taking food on disposable leaf plates (pattal) laid on a roadside stone, in the backdrop of a car and rolling hills. In another picture, he was photographed talking to a group of men, presumably at the ashram, while another photograph showed him standing with a priest, paying his respects.
Rajinikanth recently condoled the death of the people killed in the unfortunate stampede at the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) rally, held by actor-turned-politician Vijay.
"The news of the loss of innocent lives in the incident that occurred in Karur shakes the heart and causes immense grief. My deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. Comfort to those who were injured. My heart trembles. The news coming from Karur brings shock and sorrow. I am at a loss for words to express my deepest condolences to the innocent people who lost their lives trapped in the crowd congestion. I urge the Tamil Nadu government to ensure that those rescued from the congestion receive proper treatment and that those affected receive appropriate relief," Rajinikanth wrote on his X (formerly Twitter).
On the work front, Rajinikanth was recently spotted in Lokesh Kanagaraj's "Coolie", which hit theatres on August 14. The film stars Nagarjuna and Shruti Haasan.
