Kerala polls: 2.74 Cr voters to decide fate of 957 candidates
In Kerala, while the fight is between the traditional rival fronts -- the present ruling CPI-M led Left Democratic Front and the Congress-led United Democratic Front, also in the running is the BJP -led National Democratic Alliance. In the outgoing Assembly, the Left in 2016 had won 91 seats and secured 43.48 per cent while the UDF had 47 seats with 38.81 per cent votes while the BJP had just one seat and secured 14.96 per cent votes.

Tewari has been one of the dissenting voices in the G-23 that wrote to interim chief Sonia Gandhi demanding sweeping reforms in the party and even addressed a public meeting in Jammu. No insurance claim if death due to alcohol consumption: SC
A bench of Justices M.M. Shantangoudar and Vineet Saran said the proviso of the insurance company makes it amply clear that the injured is not entitled to compensation since it was proved that he was intoxicated and that death was due to intoxication. The top court said the insurer was only liable to compensate a person who got injured solely and directly from an accident.
Manish Sisodia backs move to lower legal drinking age to 21 in Delhi
While announcing some reforms under its new policy on Monday, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, justified the decision to lower the legal age for drinking to 21, comparing the move to the prevalent practice in other states such as Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Assam, Orissa and Tamil Nadu.

The observation was made by a five-judge Constitution bench headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan and comprising Justices L. Nageswara Rao, S. Abdul Nazeer, Hemant Gupta and S. Ravindra Bhat during the hearing of petitions against the validity of 2018 Maharashtra law granting reservation to Marathas in education and jobs.

"The petitioner was time and again pressurised by the Minister for Home, Government of Maharashtra to probe the role of certain leaders of BJP and somehow implicate them. Addressing an event, Rawat said: "The government gave five kg of ration per person to every household, which means a family of two-member gets 10 kilograms of ration, while those with 20 received a quintal (100 kilograms) of ration. But then they get jealous of each other that one got only 10 kilograms for two and another family got a quintal for 20 members. When there was a time you only gave birth to two. Why not 20?"

World Water Day: Modi launches 'catch the rain' campaign
