"To safeguard their farms and the country, farmers are dying slowly. But they are not afraid and they are true to their stance," he said in a tweet in Hindi with the hashtag of #500DeathsAtFarmersProtest. Hundreds of farmers from Punjab, Harryana and western Uttar Pradesh have been protesting against the three farm laws since November 26 last year at several borders of the national capital.

Pandey, a 1984-batch Uttar Pradesh cadre officer, has been appointed to the post in the Election Commission with effect from the date he assumes the office.
Agra hospital sealed over alleged death of 22 patients due to Oxygen shortage during mock drill

In a viral video, hospital owner Dr Arinjay Jain says that patients showed severe hypoxia symptoms during the mock drill and their hands and feet turned blue. It is alleged that these 22 patients later died and their deaths were covered up. District Magistrate Prabhu N. Singh said that a case will be registered against the hospital under the Epidemic Act.
India records over 92K Covid cases, 2,219 deaths in 24 hrs

Fire breaks out in Mata Vaishno Devi shrine complex

Police sources said the fire broke out at the Kalika Bhavan building in the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine complex, which has been brought under control. "No casualty took place in this fire incident which happened most probably due to a short circuit. One building housing a counting centre was completely gutted," sources said.
