For a long time, Bollywood courtroom dramas have captivated an audience via heavy silence, monologues, and explosions of truth. Whether, in gripping courtroom battles, fascinating legalese around justice, or moral dilemmas in front of the bench, courtroom dramas amplify that passion and intensity of storytelling to a kind of spectacle. Now with the popularity of OTT distribution, raw courtroom drama can now provide pathways beyond the courtroom and into vistas that produce unprecedented narratives, multidimensional characters, and, ultimately, multi-layered meaning. Many OTT platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, ZEE5, Disney+ Hotstar, and Sony LIV have produced tremendous volumes of courtroom films and series. While some of the titles aren't court-centered, there are still many on the viewable slate of engaging content that uses a new breed of true stories, fictional narratives, and a variety of themes, many of which engage society's pressing commentary while utilizing narratives around justice, abuse of power, gender bias, media trials, and personal redemption. What drives or excites for most audiences is the typical story of courtroom dramatics that transgresses back out of the courtroom, and into an issue that weighs dramatically on the relevance of personal lives that are influenced by the verdict. There is something deeply gratifying, even comforting, when watching a tale of courtroom drama unfold with all of the truths exposed to scrutiny, with each argument escalating to a less than enthusiastic level of suspense. Whether we involve a heroic lawyer against the system, a flawed protagonist seeking justice, or any number of scenarios, the courtroom drama is more than entertainment; it is a powerful platform that entertains, creates dialogue, pushes boundaries, thinking beyond norms, calls upon us to act, and motivates. If you enjoy an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride that tests your thinking, understanding, and cheering, then this may be perfect. Here is a list of Bollywood courtroom films & series available on OTT services, complete with drama, debate, and plenty of legal chaos—all from your couch.

7. Shahid :
Shahid Kapoor is an adaptable actor in Bollywood and evolved the public perception of him from a romantic hero to a performer of intense physicality. In 2003, he made his acting debut with Ishq Vishk, portrayed as the charming boy-next-door image, while over the years, he would receive recognition for serious roles in films like Kaminey, Haider, Udta Punjab, and the blockbuster hit Kabir Singh. Many of his performances reflect a quality of softened aggression, full of emotional depth and physicality, which is easy to see. Shahid is of family of artists as his father is actor, Pankaj Kapur, and instills a strong sense of legacy with contemporary appeal. He is also one of the more stylish actors (and dancers) in Bollywood. More personally, he keeps a fairly grounded private life with wife, Mira Rajput (whom he married in 2015, in a large ceremony), and their two children. He continues to evolve as an actor, balancing mainstream success with the pursuit of challenging and artistic roles.
6. Rustom :

In a moment of controlled rage Rustom kills Vikram in cold blood, and the scene is then set for an extraordinary courtroom trial. Rustom is a tale of patriotism, betrayal, and suspense, with a great performance from Akshay who appropriately quelled his rage. Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, Rustom delves into notions of justice, morality, and love. Both actors give stellar performances while the courtroom scenes provide engaging dialogue grappling with the balance between the law and justice, and if the law should all be done in emotion versus evidence. *Section 375* was praised for its sensible and mature depiction of a sensitive subject, as well as compelling legal drama throughout the courtroom scenes.
