The Indian team lost 46-101 and 60-95 against New Zealand and also went down 64-84 to the Philippines in the reverse fixture. However, India still progressed to the second round after the fourth nation in Group A, South Korea, were disqualified following a Covid-19 outbreak in their camp.

They will now take on either the Australian-Canadian pair of John Peers and Gabriela Dabrowski or Brazil's Bruno Soares and Beatriz Haddad Maia in the quarterfinals. The Indian and her Croatian partner had beaten Spain's David Vega Hernandez and Natela Dzalamidze of Georgia 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(3) in the first round.

This is Bouzkova's first ever Grand Slam quarterfinal in her career. The 2014 US Open junior champion hadn't been past the second round of a Grand Slam in 13 prior tries entering Wimbledon, but she's now won eight straight sets since losing the opener to No 7 seed Danielle Collins in Round 1. Sunday's win also earned Bouzkova another milestone at the All England Club, her first-ever Grand Slam main draw win came at Wimbledon three years ago.

He had two reprieves as Shardul Thakur and Bumrah dropped simple catches. On the very next ball after being dropped for a second time in the day, Stokes stepped out for a big shot off Thakur, only for Bumrah to take a superb diving catch at mid-off, ending his stay at the crease for 25 and bringing his 66-run stand with Bairstow to close.

Former India head coach Ravi Shastri hailed his successor and former batter Rahul Dravid, saying that he is the best person to take over from him as the head coach of the national side. After Shastri's reign as the head coach ended after Men's T20 World Cup last year, Dravid succeeded him for the job in November 2021 and is currently with the side in the ongoing Edgbaston Test.
