Three IPL franchises -- Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals -- own teams in the International League T20 (ILT20) in the United Arab Emirates while six teams -- Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, SunRisers Hyderabad, Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals - are involved in the upcoming league in South Africa (SA20).

The JSW-GMR co-owned Delhi Capitals franchise bagged ICC Men's T20 World Cup-winning player Phil Salt for INR 2 crore along with South African Rilee Rossouw for INR 4.6 crore. They also picked up experienced Indian players like Ishant Sharma and Manish Pandey for INR 50 Lakh and INR 2.4 crore respectively. In addition, uncapped Indian speedster Mukesh Kumar also joined the Delhi Capitals for INR 5.5 crore.
