Admiral Mullen ,who was chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff from October 2007 to September 2011, when asked to describe Washington's relations with Pakistan said, "It is difficult, difficult to say. I think we have clearly distanced ourselves from Pakistan over the last decade and Pakistan has more and more fallen under the umbrella of China."
US ends public health order limiting asylum at border
The US government will end a public health order that has limited asylum at the border, which was introduced after the Covid-19 outbreak in 2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced. A termination of the policy, known as Title 42, will be implemented on May 23, Xinhua news agency quoted the CDC as saying in a statement on Friday.

US imposes sanctions on 5 N.Korean entities over recent ICBM tests
The US on Friday imposed fresh sanctions on five North Korean entities involved in the North's recent missile tests that included its first intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) launch in over four years. The five entities include the North's Ministry of Rocket Industry (MoRI), Yonhap news agency reported, citing the Department of the Treasury.
Border measures ease in Canada amid new Covid-19 variant
Border measures eased in Canada on Friday as fully vaccinated travellers no longer need pre-arrival Covid-19 testing to enter the country either by land or air. Vaccinated people could still be subject to random molecular tests when they arrive in Canada. If they are randomly selected, they are not required to isolate, unless the result comes back positive, Xinhua news agency reported, citing a previous announcement by the Health Ministry.

My life is in danger, says Imran Khan
The Pakistan Premier says that he has been aware of the conspiracy to assassinate him since August 2021, Geo News reported. The country's security agencies had earlier revealed that they have discovered a plot against the Prime Minister, he said, adding that attempts to assassinate him were being planned. Pakistan Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said on Friday that a plot to assassinate Imran Khan had been reported by security agencies, Dawn reported.
First Ukrainian air strikes on Russian territory
Ukrainian helicopter pilots have plenty of experience of flying low and fast to avoid being detected by military radar and air defence systems. They have been doing exactly that in the Donbas region in eastern Ukraine for years. But if these reports are correct -- flying at night, well into Russian territory, to launch an attack on an enemy fuel depot would have required extraordinary bravery -- as well as finely-honed flying skills.
Independent foreign policy doesn't mean being anti-India : Pakistan PM Imran Khan
Imran Khan further added that he only opposed India when New Delhi changed Kashmir's status, before that he had tried to maintain friendly relations with India. Interestingly, a few days back, Imran Khan had praised India's foreign policy for being neutral which was in the interest of its citizens.
