Jyotiraditya Scindia says emergency exit was opened by mistake in IndiGo flight

IndiGo had said on Tuesday that a passenger accidentally opened the emergency exit of a plane at the Chennai airport on December 10. The passenger had apologised, said the airlines. While the airline did not name the passenger, few opposition parties have reacted on the matter, claiming that the person responsible for the act was BJP MP from Bengaluru South, Tejasvi Surya.

Exempt levy of customs duty on telecom equipment to boost 5G roll out: COAI

"BCD of 20 per cent is levied on import of most of telecom equipment like optical transport equipment/networks, IP radios, MIMO/LTE products, soft switches, VoIPs, PTN, MPLS -TP, etc. which is disrupting the cost effectiveness of the telcos," said the Cellular Operators' Association of India (COAI), the apex body that represents the telecom sector.
Government aims to produce 1 billion tonnes coal in 2023-24

A total of 290 mines are operational under the CIL, out of which 97 produce more than 1 million tonnes per year. These targets were fixed during a review meeting conducted by Coal Secretary Amritlal Meena on Wednesday, where all subsidiaries of CIL were present.
