RBI says momentum in economic recovery to continue in FY23

Despite the risks, the report said the recovery is "getting entrenched and is broadening", besides the Union Budget for FY22 envisioned the roadmap for 'India at 100', with a focus on demand side measures. RBI's balance sheet grows by 8.46% in FY22

While income for the year increased by 20.14 per cent, expenditure increased by 280.13 per cent, according to the RBI's Annual Report for 2021-22 released on Friday. The increase on the asset side was due to increase in foreign investments, domestic investments, gold, and loans and advances and on the liability side due to the increase in deposits and notes by it.

World Bank chief David Malpass warned this week that Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine could cause a global recession as the price of food, energy and fertiliser jump. "As we look at the global GDP, it's hard right now to see how we avoid a recession... At 9.58 a.m., Sensex was at 54,615.81 points, up 363.28 or 0.67 per cent, whereas Nifty at 16,293.55 points, up 123.40 or 0.76 per cent.
