Reconsider decision to hold Class 10, 12 board exams: Andhra HC
With several petitions seeking cancellation of the board exams on account of spiralling Covid cases being filed, the court heard the matter on Friday, and directed the state government to submit an affidavit by May 3, the date fixed for the next hearing. The intermediate or Class 12 board exams are scheduled to commence from May 5, while the Class 10 board examinations are to begin on June 14.
Haryana shuts colleges till May 31
Amid surge in Covid-19 cases, the Haryana government on Friday announced closure of all colleges, coaching and training institutes, IITs and libraries till May 31.

Intermediate board exams in Andhra as per schedule: Minister
Addressing media, the minister stressed that the examinations will be held with Covid protocols in place to ensure safety for the students. The examinations will take place from May 5 to 19, at 1,452 examination centres that have been arranged across the state.
Delhi govt gives its teachers the shivers with show cause notices
The Delhi government has deployed the school teachers at several places including makeshift hospitals, data recording of vaccines and oxygen, crematorium grounds to keep a tab and maintain data on a daily basis on the number of people infected with Covid-19 and people losing their battle against the virus infection.

He said that the government is conducting Board examinations to ensure that students have a better future and assured them that he has every student's future in mind while taking this decision. As only pass certificates would be issued by the states which have not conducted the exams, how will our students get admission in good institutions on the basis of a pass certificate alone, he queried.
IIT Madras, Anna University postpone exams
IIT Madras has postponed its end semester exams which were to be held on May 10 and Anna University has postponed its online retest scheduled for May 3. Madras University has also cancelled its examinations following the surge in Covid cases and the second wave of the pandemic.
Delayed boards may hamper students' admission plans abroad
The academic calendar in America, Canada New Zealand and the UK begins in September. If the board exams are held and if the results are declared in time, it would allow students to apply to most foreign universities. However, the time usually afforded for the application process would obviously be curtailed.
