CBSE exams for Class 10 cancelled, class 12 postponed: Education Minister

The decision was taken in a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi here amid demand from students, teachers, parents and other stakeholders to cancel it. The CBSE Board exams were scheduled to be held from May 4 to June 7 and the results were to be announced by July 15.

Closure of schools in UP extended to April 30

"Classes of all the government/non-government schools from Classes 1 to 12 will remain closed in the state until April 30. Coaching centres will be closed. Pre-scheduled examinations may take place during this period. Teachers and other staff can be present as per the requirement," Chief Minister Yogi Adityannath said in a meeting of team 11 here.

Delhi Govt orders closure of all schools due to spike in Covid-19 cases

The national capital has been reporting a steep spike in new Covid-19 cases for the last few weeks. On Thursday, the city reported 7437 new Covid-19 infections, which was the highest number of cases in a single-day this year. The capital's total active cases have reached close to 24k (23,181 till Thursday evening), while the daily positivity rate crossed 8 percent.
