Delhi lawyer files complaint against Nadav Lapid for comments on 'The Kashmir Files'

Lapid was the Jury Chairman of the International Competition section of the International Film Festival of India, which was held at Panaji, Goa on Monday. "We were, all of us, disturbed and shocked by the 15th film, The Kashmir Files. That felt to us like a propaganda, vulgar movie, inappropriate for an artistic competitive section of such a prestigious film festival," Lapid had said during his closing speech.

Sunny Nanasaheb Waghchoure, Sanjay Gujar, known as the 'Golden Boys' will be stepping into the controversial reality show. The channel Colors dropped a promo about the wildcard entry on Instagram. It showed two men standing with dozens of gold chains on their neck. One even had "Nana" written on it. The caption read: "Golden entry ke saath Hum aa rahe hai Bigg Boss ke ghar mein bannkar Wildcard?"

Clarifying his position, Sen said: "Whatever has been said by IFFI 2022 Jury Chairman Mr Nadav Lapid about the film 'The Kashmir Files' from the stage of the closing ceremony of 53rd IFFI was completely his personal opinion."

The closing ceremony of IFFI was held at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee indoor stadium in Taleigao on Monday. The 53rd edition of IFFI witnessed participation of filmmakers and cinema lovers from across the globe. Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur, MoS I&B L. Murugan, MoS Tourism Shripad Naik, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Earlier on Monday, Lapid said that the IFFI was disturbed about this film. Sharing the experience of the jury, he said that 14 out of them (international films) had cinematic quality. "All of us were disturbed and shocked by the 15th film 'The Kashmir Files'. That felt to us like a propaganda, vulgar movie, inappropriate for an artistic competitive section of such a prestigious film festival," Lapid added.
