2,73,810 new Covid cases push India tally to over 1.5 Cr cases

This is the fifth consecutive day that the country has registered over two lakh Covid cases taking the total tally to 1,50,61,919 cases. India on Sunday recorded 2,61,500 new cases, 2,34,692 cases on Saturday, 2,00,739 and 2,17,353 cases on Thursday and Friday respectively.
Remdesivir production adequate, export banned precautionary: Shah

Shah said on Sunday, "The production of Remdisivir is adequate. We have banned export as precautionary but in panic people are buying in bulk which is leading to a shortage." "I appeal to the people to buy it when only the doctor prescribes," he added.

Covid deaths in Gujarat under-reported: Chidambaram

Citing media reports, Chidambaram said 'Covid-caused deaths are being mis-reported as caused by cardiac arrest, chronic diabetes'. He said while Gujarat officially reported 78 Covid-caused deaths on Friday (April 17), the media reported that 689 bodies were cremated in seven cities alone following the Covid protocol.

Delhi orders case against four airlines for carrying passengers without tests

"The Delhi government has directed the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) police station to lodge FIRs against IndiGo, Spicejet, Vistara and AirAsia," the Delhi Chief Minister's Office said.
