Former Nepal King Gyanendra in India to attend Kumbh

King Gyanendra will visit other important temples in the holy city—which lies on the banks of river Ganga. During his visit he will take the holy dip and seek the blessings of the priests. In one of his earlier visits to India, King Gyanendra and his family had met with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Yet to receive SEC communication on Sputnik V approval: DRL

"There is no approval received yet. We are still awaiting the statement from the SEC. Once we get something, we will release a statement," a DRL official told IANS on Monday. He said that the SEC has to first pass on the recommendation to the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) and then the latter has to give the nod.

Several hospitals to be turned into Covid care centres: Arvind Kejriwal

The Chief Minister also directed the health department to increase the number of beds for Covid infected patients in both government and private hospitals across the capital. In the meeting, Kejriwal asserted that the bed count must be at par with the bed count in November last year when corona was at its peak. "We must ensure our bed availability in government and private hospitals to be at par with November last year," he added.
Plea on EMAS at airports: SC tells Centre to address it

The top court had then told Centre's counsel: "People are trapped in the aircraft, it is a horrible sight. Please look into it." In September last year, the bench had issued notice to the ministry and DGCA on a plea by a Delhi resident Rajen Mehta, who is an 85-year-old retired engineer. The plea has been filed through advocate Shohit Chaudhry.

30 lakh vaccine doses administered on Day 1 of 'Tika Utsav'

Monday marks the second day of the countrywide Tika Utsav. The Centre said that cumulatively, 10,45,28,565 vaccine doses have been administered in 15,56,361 sessions, as per the report till 7 a.m. These include 90,13,289 Health Care Workers (HCW) who have taken the 1st dose and 55,24,344 HCWs who have taken the 2nd dose, 99,96,879 Front Line Warriors (FLW) (1st dose).
INS Viraat 40% dismantled, can't convert it into museum, says SC

A bench headed by Chief Justice S.A. Bobde and comprising Justices A.S. Bopanna and V. Ramasubramanian told the counsel representing private firm Envitech Marine Consultants Pvt Ltd, "You are too late 40 per cent of the ship is already dismantled, how will you make it a museum." The firm's counsel argued that it can seek the services of a reputed firm and conduct a survey and get to the top court in the matter.
Covid-19 fear grips Bihar, cases rise 4 times in 8 days

According to the data released by the state Health Department, the number of active cases is increasing with the rise in the number of infected people. In Bihar, 864 infected persons were identified on April 4, while 245 were cured the same day. The number of active patients in the state on this day was 3,560, after which the pace picked up fast.
Kejriwal reviews Covid situation in Delhi, makes 3 requests
