27 Bills passed earlier to be presented in Lok Sabha on Tuesday

Soon after the House will assemble at 4 p.m., Lok Sabha Secretary General Utpal Kumar Singh will table these 27 Bills that were assented to by President Ram Nath Kovind after these were passed in the previous session of Parliament.
Covid-19 Update: At 94, India records lowest deaths after May 14

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said the overall toll has reached 1,54,486 as 8,635 new Covid-19 cases continued the low streak and the overall tally mounted to 1,07,66,245 in over a year, with the first Coronavirus case reported on January 30 in 2020. The country last reported below 8,500 new cases on June 1 when there were 7,761 cases.

The House was then adjourned till 10.30 a.m. Minutes after the house went into session for the day, Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu rejected the suspension notice given by opposition on the farm laws.
Confusion prevails on focus of Union Budget

Believe it or not, among all the choices from farmers to health to taxes, the can't say category holds the majority with 28.6 per cent respondents saying so. Within this, the granular details show that the low-income group is most ambiguous with 31.9 per cent saying can't say but even in the middle-income group confusion prevails with 24.6 per cent taking the can't say option.
Tomar lauds 'first all-inclusive budget of the decade'

Tomar said the Budget has removed all apprehensions in people's minds about the new farm laws. "In this Budget, the Government has reinforced its commitment to minimum support price (MSP) and made a provision to empower mandis. I hope that farmers ' organisations will now consider the matter positively after their doubts have been allayed."
56% say Budget will push up monthly expenses

According to the survey, 56.4 per cent of the people expect that the Budget will push up their expenses, in comparison to 47.3 per cent last year, 39.7 per cent in 2019, 64.4 per cent in 2018, 54.3 per cent in 2017, 62.8 per cent in 2016, 64.4 per cent in 2015, 72.9 per cent in 2014 and 81.2 per cent in 2013.
Budget fails to impress Delhi traders

Asked about his views about the provisions announced in the Budget, Rai said, "We are going through the tough phase of Covid-19 since last year, which has been very difficult for us. In the beginning of the pandemic outbreak, our business was only left to 20 per cent."

The first Bill, the Major Port Authorities Bill, 2020, is likely to be moved by Mansukh Mandaviya to provide for regulation, operation and planning of major ports in the country and to vest the administration, control and management of such ports upon the Boards of Major Port Authorities, which has been passed by Lok Sabha.
