Speaking at the 'Aero India' show here, the Minister said: "We have taken many steps to strengthen our security apparatus recently. Domestic manufacturing of bigger and complex defence platforms has now become the focus of our policy under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan. We plan to spend 130 billion dollars on military modernisation."

UP farmer throws away 10 quintals cauliflowers after Re 1/kg offer
The farmer was apparently upset at the low price being offered for his produce by the licensed traders on the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) campus in Pilibhit. The farmer, Mohammad Saleem of Jahanabad town, said he was offered Re 1 per kg for his crop by the traders, which was less than the transportation cost for bringing his produce to the APMC campus.
Breach of Peace notices withdrawn against UP farmers
The notices were issued on January 19 mostly to tractor-owning farmers in Sitapur on the "apprehension that they would violate law and order in light of farmers protest in the district". Last week, the high court had asked the state and district officials to explain "how and why poor farmers had been issued these notices".
No phone recordings in Rajya Sabha: Chairman warns
The Chairman has also warned media houses from using such recordings for broadcasting. M. Venkaiah Naidu said, "Any use of the mobile phone will invite breach of privilege and media is advised not to use the recordings." On Tuesday during sloganeering, some members recorded the incident and posted it on social media.

CBI books retired IAS officer in illegal mining case in UP
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) also carried out searches at nine locations in Kaushambi and Lucknow. A CBI official said that during searches at Singh's premises, apart from Rs 10 lakh, documents of around 44 immovable properties, fixed deposits of Rs 51 lakh, 36 bank accounts in the name of the retired officer and his family members at Lucknow, Kanpur, Ghaziabad, and New Delhi, and keys of six lockers, were seized.
President Kovind to visit Andhra Pradesh on Sunday
