Union Minister Prahlad Patel visits Red Fort to assess 'damage'

The Minister, in charge of Culture and Tourism Ministry, visited the spots within the premises where a section of protesters had indulged in vandalism. He was accompanied by senior Delhi Police officers and other officials. He was apprised by security personnel about the damage done to the structure and the ticket counters and how the protesters had barged into the monument on Tuesday.

The last summons was served on January 19, the sources said. The agency had also issued a Lookout Notice against him.
'Why are you resisting?' Delhi High Court asks Centre on EIA draft translation

Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Chetan Sharma, appearing on the behalf of the Centre, told the court that translating it in several languages would create a lot of "administrative problems". The ASG said, "We will file an affidavit." Following this, Chief Justice Patel slated the matter for February 25 for the Centre to place on record the difficulties faced by it in translating the draft.
Supreme Court stays Bombay High Court's disturbing skin-to-skin order

After a brief hearing in the matter, the top court stayed the January 19 order of the Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court, which acquitted the accused under Section 8 of Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO). The bench also issued notice to the accused and allowed the AG to file a special leave petition challenging the High Court order.

4 soldiers injured in Kashmir terror attack

Army said the attack took place when troops were doing a sanitisation drill in the general area of Shamsipura at Khanabal in Kulgam. Four soldiers received splinter injuries in the terrorist attack. They have been evacuated to army's 92 base hospital in Srinagar after they were provided first aid.

Sasikala to be released from Bengaluru prison on Wednesday

Sasikala tested positive on January 20 and was admitted to the Bowring hospital initially. In view of her critical condition, she was shifted to the ICU ward of Victoria Hospital. Now that the symptoms have reduced substantially and her condition has become normal, she has been taken out of the ICU, the Victoria Hospital authorities said in a statement.
