Mamata to contest from Suvendu's 'home turf' Nandigram

The announcement came at her rally held in Nandigram -- the Assembly constituency earlier represented by rebel Trinamool leader Suvendu Adhikari who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bengal last month. The Chief Minister said that she would contest the election from two constituencies, including Bhabanipur in Kolkata.

SC: Delhi Police to decide whether farmers be allowed in city to protest

The observation from the top court came after the Attorney General K.K. Venugopal said the Centre is seeking restraint orders against farmers from entering Delhi as court has taken charge of the matter. The Chief Justice said it is not for the court to decide how many farmers should be allowed in the city and the nature of conditions to be imposed on them.

Randhawa said the notices by the NIA were part of a devious ploy by the BJP government to weaken the farmers' movement being waged on the borders of Delhi. He also divulged that this is not the first time since the last six-and-a-half year tenure of the NDA government that its agencies have been misused for political purposes.
