It is India's first messenger RNA (mRNA) Covid vaccine candidate. Globally, US-based pharma giant Pfizer Inc has developed its mRNA vaccine. The permission was granted after the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) for vaccines recommended for grant of permission in a review meeting on Wednesday.

Gehlot blames Covid-19 for panchayat poll loss

In a major setback to the Congress in Rajasthan, the opposition BJP swept 1,911 seats in the recently held panchayat samiti elections while the ruling party was limited to 1,781 seats. The Independents won 425 seats, the Bahujan Samaj Party got 3 seats while the CPI-M captured 16 seats in the elections while the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party got 57 seats, according to the State Election Commission.

Cabinet nod for scheme to boost employment amid pandemic

The Cabinet has approved an expenditure of Rs 1,584 crore for the current financial year and Rs 22,810 crore for the entire scheme period -- 2020-2023. Under the scheme, the Centre will provide a subsidy for two years in respect of new employees engaged on or after October 1, 2020, and up to June 30, 2021.

37 DDC constituencies in J&K to go for polls in 5th phase

Addressing a press conference, State Election Commissioner K.K. Sharma said that of 37 DDC constituencies, 17 are in the Kashmir division and 20 in the Jammu division. In the 17 DDC constituencies of Kashmir, there are 155 candidates in the fray, including 30 women, while in the Jammu division, 144 candidates, including 40 women, are contesting.
