Centre reviews preparedness against Covid, advises states to undertake mock drills in April

The meeting was chaired by Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, and NITI Aayog's Member, Health, Dr V.K. Paul and Secretary, Health Research, Dr Rajiv Bahl were also present. Bhushan advised tge states to undertake mock drills across all health facilities on April 10 and 11 to ensure operational readiness of hospital infrastructure, including oxygen cylinders, PSA plants, ventilators, logistics and human resources.

"Currently, there is no increase in the hospitalisation so far as the Covid-19 new strain is concerned. The Mission made the claim in a letter to the Department of Consular Services under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on March 25. "The esteemed Ministry is requested to inform the Department of Immigration not to permit Amritpal Singh to travel through Nepal for any third country and arrest him if he attempts to escape from Nepal using an Indian passport or any other fake passport under intimation to this mission," reads a copy of the letter obtained by The Kathmandu Post.

Mid-air scare: Nepal asks Indian authorities to take action against Air India pilots

On Friday, before landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, the Air India plane from New Delhi, flying at an unauthorised height of 19,000 feet, suddenly fell to 15,000 feet. This made it almost collide with a Nepal Airlines plane coming to Kathmandu from Kuala Lumpur and the accident was averted after the Nepal Airlines pilots took down their plane to 7,000 feet.
