Former Punjab CM Amarinder may launch new political party on Wednesday

The former CM has expressed his resolve to quit Congress which made him Punjab's CM twice and state party president thrice. Amrinder Singh claimed that the Gandhi siblings (Priyanka and Rahul) were "quite inexperienced" and "their advisors were clearly misguiding them". 
J&K; 5 civilians injured in a mysterious explosion in Bandipora

According to the J&K police, the injured civilians were shifted to the local hospitals immediately. The attending doctors referred all the injured people to Srinagar for specialized treatment. As per media reports, it is being said that a convoy of the Army was the main target. The district had now been cordoned off after the blast.

A bench headed by Chief Justice N.V. Ramana had orally told senior advocate C.U. Singh, who is appearing for one of the petitioners in Pegasus matter, that some experts have expressed their inability to join the probe due to personal reasons and an order on the committee is expected soon.
WHO may approve Bharat Biotech's Covaxin 'within 24 hours'

"If all is in place and all goes well and if the committee is satisfied, we would expect a recommendation within the next 24 hours or so," Margaret Harris, a spokeswoman for WHO, was quoted as saying at a UN press briefing. The Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech had applied to the WHO on April 19 for Covaxin's Emergency Use Listing (EUL). The WHO had earlier said that it will carry out the risk and benefit assessments before granting the EUL to determine if a manufactured vaccine is quality-assured, safe and effective.

Senior advocate Arun Bhardwaj, representing Ruby Devi, widow of Shyam Sundar, submitted before a bench headed by Chief Justice N.V. Ramana that there are three accused who are allegedly responsible for her husband's death and the police have not taken any action against them. Bhardwaj said 'killers are roaming free and threatening his client'.
China's first underwater explosion test to attack enemy ports

The test gathered a large amount of data that can be used in future combat for attacking enemy ports, which can contribute to the cutoff of enemy supply lines, military experts said on Sunday, the report added. Organised by an institute under the PLA Naval Research Academy, the demolition test was recently held at an undisclosed naval port, China Central Television (CCTV) reported on Saturday.
