National security not always a 'free pass' against judiciary, says SC on Pegasus
Mere invocation of national security by the state does not render the court a mute spectator, it stressed. A bench headed by Chief Justice N.V. Ramana said it is a settled position of law that in matters pertaining to national security, the scope of judicial review is limited. However, the bench added that this does not mean that the state gets a free pass every time the spectre of "national security" is raised.

"The missile, which uses a three-stage solid fuelled engine, is capable of striking targets at ranges up to 5,000 kilometres with a very high degree of accuracy," the Defence Ministry said in a statement. The successful test of Agni-5 is in line with India's stated policy to have "credible minimum deterrence" that underpins the commitment to "No First Use".
Delhi logs 38 Covid cases, infection rate drops to 0.06%
The city's death toll stands at 25,091. The national capital has recorded four deaths due to the infection in this month so far, and the death rate stands at 1.74 per cent. The Covid infection rate in the national capital has dropped to 0.06 per cent. However, the active cases tally has increased to 348 and 106 of them are being treated in home isolation at present.

India says China's new boundary law is a concern
Responding to media queries on China's Land Boundary law, official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Arindam Bagchi said, "We have noted that China has passed a new 'Land Boundary Law' on October 23, 2021. The law states among other things that China abides by treaties concluded with or jointly acceded to by foreign countries on land boundary affairs.

NCB team questions Wankhede for over four hours
