Wankhede family was Muslim: Sameer's ex-in-law's bombshell

Speaking to hordes of mediapersons, Dr. Quraishi -- the ex-father-in-law of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede -- said that the two families had "excellent relations" prior to his (Sameer's) wedding with his daughter. "The marriage took place before they were Muslims... Otherwise it would not have materialised... They were good Muslims, performing 'namaz' and 'Ramadan rozas' also," Dr. Quraishi asserted, dropping a bombshell.
Jammu and Kashmir: Infiltration bids to go up ahead of heavy snowfall, warn intelligence agencies

The warning has been issued after the security forces intercepted the messages of terror outfits in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) for intensifying infiltrations before the heavy snowfall. The terror outfits are planning infiltration despite the fact that the Indian Army and central police forces in the Kashmir Valley have initiated major operations against the terrorists after the targeted killings of civilians recently.

It also aims at motivating the people from weaker performing districts to readily get their full Covid vaccination doses. The announcement for the campaign was made after a meeting in this regard was held between health ministers from different states and the Centre at the Vigyan Bhawan.

Speeding truck kills 3 women farmers at Tikri border

Two other women farmers were also injured in the accident which took place at around 6 a.m. The speeding truck ran over a divider and hit the women as they were waiting for an auto to return to their villages. According to the police, two of the victims were killed on the spot, while the third died in a hospital. The truck driver managed to escape following the accident. With the death of the three women farmers, a total of 700 farmers have died so far in the farmers protests that started in September 2020.
'Can't hold up results of 16 lakh students', SC paves way for declaration of NEET results 2021

The National Testing Agency (NTA) had moved the top court stating that the results were being delayed due to the high court's order. A bench headed by Justice L. Nageswara Rao said: "We cannot hold up the results of 16 lakh students."The bench told the petitioner's counsel "stay and notice. We will decide what happens to the two students upon reopening (after Diwali vacation). In the meanwhile, we issue notice and file a counter".

A bypoll was to take place in Nagaland's Shamator-Chessore Assembly seat, but ruling Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) candidate S. Keoshu Yimchunger, who was the consensus nominee of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), an all-party coalition formed on September 18 to run an opposition-less government in the northeastern state, has been elected unopposed as he was the lone nominee in the tribal reserved seat.
Terrorist killed in Kashmir

"The dead terrorist is a hybrid type, identified as Javed Ah Wani of Kulgam district. He has assisted terrorist Gulzar (who was killed on October 20) in killing of two labourers from Bihar in Wanpoh. He was on a mission to target one shopkeeper in Baramulla," J&K Police quoting IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said. According to the police, the terrorists fired upon an army and police party which triggered the encounter.
