Blinken is scheduled to travel to New Delhi and Kuwait on July 26-29 and will meet India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his two-day visit starting July 27. This is Blinken's first visit to India after assuming charge as US Secretary of State and comes barely a month ahead of US military withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Presidential palace to reopen for public from Aug 1
"Visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan and Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum Complex, which were closed since April 14, 2021 due to Covid-19, will reopen from August 1, 2021 for the public," the Rashtrapati Bhavan said in a statement. Tour of Rashtrapati Bhavan will be available on Saturday and Sunday, except on holidays, in three pre-booked time slots -- 10:30-11:30 am , 12:30-1:30 pm and 2:30-3:30 pm with a maximum limit of 25 visitors per slot.

UNGA President-elect Abdulla Shahid meets Modi
He arrived in India on Wednesday on a three-day visit. Shahid is visiting India in his capacity as President-elect of the 76th session of the UNGA, following the election held in New York on July 7, 2021. India is the first country Shahid is visiting in his official capacity after he was elected to the post on June 7. He had last visited India in April in his capacity as the Maldivian foreign minister.
Shortage of buses in Delhi resulting in long waits for commuters
After the lockdown restrictions were lifted and public activities were allowed, commuters dependent on Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses to reach their offices or return to their homes have to wait for hours to board a bus. The situation becomes worse during the morning and evening rush hours. Women and senior citizens especially face a lot of problems because of the Covid-19 related regulations. At many places, the buses hardly wait for a few seconds, making it impossible for the elderly to board.
Crime Branch quizzes Shilpa; Kundra to stay in police custody
Though the Crime Branch did not make any statement on the visit by its officials to the Kundra-Shetty home, sources said that they believe that the money allegedly earned by Kundra from pornography was used for online betting. The Crime Branch is believed to be investigating the money trail.

NAIN, the GOC-in-C, Southern Army, said that the Indian Army has deployed 15 teams from Pune's Aundh Military Station and Bombay Engineering Group, while the Navy has deployed over 7 teams, and the IAF has deployed helicopters for transporting NDRF teams. The Indian Coast Guard has also deployed two units to rescue the marooned people.
US Secy of State Blinken to visit India to highlight 'shared priorities'
Price said that Blinken is to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Wednesday "to discuss a wide range of issues including continued cooperation on Covid-19 response efforts, Indo-Pacific engagement, shared regional security interests, shared democratic values, and addressing the climate crisis".

Counsel representing the Municipal Corporation informed a bench comprising Justices A.M. Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari that so far 74 acres out of 150 acres have been cleared. As senior advocate Colin Gonsalves, representing some petitioners, cited the issues with the rehabilitation, in view of a draft policy of the Municipal Corporation, the bench responded that people can share their suggestions on the issue with the Municipal Commissioner by Saturday, and they can be considered, on the aspect of feasibility.
