Wimbledon 2022: Unseeded Garcia knocks out Raducanu in second-round
After winning her first match at Wimbledon on Monday, the 28-year-old Garcia predicted that her second-round clash against home favourites Raducanu was ticketed for Centre Court. "It's going to be my first match on Centre Court, and it's always a pleasure to be playing on the big courts of the Slams, and the one of Wimbledon is very special," she had said after beating another British player, Yuriko Miyazaki.

Humbert needed three hours and 28 minutes across five sets in the first round against Argentine Tomas Martin Etcheverry. The lefty was rewarded for surviving that effort, as he broke Ruud's serve six times and hit 53 winners in his two-hour, 36-minute triumph. In the battle of Next Gen ATP Finals alumni, Humbert made a slow start, firing 15 unforced errors while his opponent remained solid. But once the Frenchman reined in his game, he was able to rely on his big serve and aggressive approach to power past Ruud.

This time last year, Niemeier arrived at Wimbledon qualifying in hot form, but missed two match points against Natalia Vikhlyantseva in the final round.
