Avani, the highest ranked amateur woman in India, at 116th in the world, and Sneha Singh, ranked 140th, shot 3-over 75 each while the third player, Jaaniya Dassani carded 8-over 80 at the Laguna National Resort, Masters Course, Singapore. They were both T-19th and nine shots behind the leader, Lee Jihyun, who carded 6-under 66.

Gujarat will now play the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in front of a large crowd. Chasing a target of 151 runs, Shafali played a solid start at the top while Wolvaardt finished off the chase with ease. Put into bat first, Supernovas were off to a horrible start as they slipped to 18 for 3 in the opening four overs. Priya Punia fell to Kate Cross, who also accounted for Harleen Deol while Deandra Dottin too failed to get going and was the third to fall on the bowling off Deepti Sharma as Supernovas were left on shaky ground.

No.8 seed Czech Pliskova had to come from a set down to beat surging wildcard French player Andrianjafitrimo 2-6, 6-3, 6-1 in 2 hours and 3 minutes to reach the second round of Roland Garros. Advancing more straightforwardly were former champion Latvia's Jelena Ostapenko, who defeated Lucia Bronzetti 6-1, 6-4 in 67 minutes while Australian Open finalist Danielle Collins of America, who stormed past Viktoriya Tomova 6-0, 6-4 in 71 minutes.

India to play U17 Asian Cup qualifiers in Saudi Arabia

In all 44 participating nations were divided into 10 centralised qualifying groups, six of which will feature four teams, while four groups will include five sides. India, who hosted the U17 FIFA World Cup in 2017 and will host the women's event in October this year, are in the group with five members, as per the draw conducted in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday.
