In a nail-biting thriller, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Thursday trounced Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 6 wickets. Both teams dominated with the bat from the start of their respective innings.  They converted almost every bowl into the boundary. The 200+ target was chased for the second time in this IPL season.

Spanish teenager Carlos Alcaraz reached back-to-back ATP Masters 1000 semifinals, as the 18-year-old defeated Miomir Kecmanovic of Serbia 6-7(5), 6-3, 7-6(5) to enter the last-four at the Miami Open on Friday (IST). Alacraz will take on Poland's Hubert Hurkacz for a place in the final. The 25-year-old Pole defeated Russia's world No. 2 Daniil Medvedev 7-6(7), 6-3. "I think that I'm playing in Spain," Alcaraz said of the crowd's support.

Adding another feather to his cap, Chennai Super Kings' all-rounder Dwayne Bravo on Thursday became the all-time highest wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League. The 38-year-old achieved the historic feat during the IPL 2022 match against Lucknow Super Giants at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Bravo, who was tied with Malinga at the top spot with 170 wickets, dismissed Deepak Hooda in the 18th over of Lucknow's chase to break the former Mumbai Indians' bowler's record.

In order to increase BCCI's windfall from the Indian Premier League media rights, there could be a final bidding after selling the TV and OTT properties separately, to get one unfettered winner. The BCCI on Tuesday released the tender for the IPL media rights for the 2023-27 cycle. It will be the first time since the IPL's inception that an e-auction will be held to determine the next holder of the tournament's media rights.
