IPL 2022: Pant wins toss, elects to bowl first against Mumbai Indians

Delhi Capitals' skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to bowl first against Mumbai Indians in their opening match of IPL 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium, here on Sunday. Pant said he was very excited about playing the first IPL match of the season. "Very excited. The first thing we decided is we wanted to win the toss and we got it. The pitch looks fresh," the Delhi Capitals captain said at the toss.

In the inaugural match of IPL 2022, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) trounced the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 6 wickets. It was first match for Ravindra Jadeja as the captain but his team lost despite Dhoni's half-century. Chennai Super Kings made 131/5 in 20 over. In the answer, KKR made 132/4 in 18.3 overs and won the match by 6 wickets.

The former world champion beat Katethong 21-18, 15-21, 21-19 in the semi-final contest, which lasted for one hour and 19 minutes at the St Jakobshalle Arena. The Indian ace, ranked seventh in the badminton world rankings, faced a strong challenge from the 29th-ranked Supanida Katethong in the first game.
