Pliskova overcame two-time Australia Open singles champion Victoria Azarenka of Belarus and will next meet Aryna Sabalenka, who steered past Danielle Collins of the United States. No.1-ranked Swiatek lost the opening set to Germany's Jule Niemeier before switching gears to take the next two for a 2-6, 6-4, 6-0 victory. In a contest involving former world No.1 players, No.22 seed Pliskova overcame No.26 Azarenka 7-5, 6-7(5), 6-2 to secure a quarters berth.
Asia Cup 2022: Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Rizwan to undergo follow-up scan on right knee
Rizwan had suffered the injury in the 15th over of the India innings when he fell down awkwardly trying to collect a bouncer from Mohammad Hasnain from well over his head. Rizwan was in pain right away and the Pakistan physio rushed to the ground to tend to him. Despite the pain and discomfort, Rizwan went on to bat and made a crucial contribution for Pakistan, acting as the chief architect in the run chase with a 51-ball 71.

US Open: Jessica Pegula beats Kvitova to reach first quarterfinal
Down 0-2 in the second set after winning the first easily. Pegula stormed back to take control of the match and won six games in a row in their fourth-round clash halted once by rain on Monday. The 28-year-old American won the match 6-3, 6-2 in one hour and 13 minutes to make the quarterfinals for the first time in the US Open. Pegula capitalised on her solid returns -- 27/44 points won on return (61 percent) as compared to Kvitova who claimed 22/53 points (42 percent). She also made fewer unforced errors -- 13 as against 24 by Kvitova and won six of the seven break points that ame her way whereas Kvitova could manage to win only two of the six chances she bagged.
