Simona Halep moves into Toronto final; set to enter Top-10 in latest WTA rankings

With her impressive run in the WTA 1000 tournament, the 30-year-old Halep, who will take on Beatriz Haddad Maia of Brazil in the final here, will return to Top-10 in the world when the latest ranking are released on Monday. Two-time champion Halep entered the final of the tournament defeating Pegula 2-6, 6-3, 6-4. Toronto is Halep's first final since winning the Melbourne 250 in January and the biggest final for the former No.1 since winning Rome in 2020.

Anahat said after her win over Malik. Anahat, a Grade 9 student from Delhi, was also a member of India's squash contingent in the recently-concluded Commonwealth Games. She was the youngest member of the Indian contingent in Birmingham.

Saturday's AP250 race was one of the toughest races of the season with 5 riders crashing out in first lap. Starting the wet 12-lap race 1 from 14th on the grid, Indian rider Rajiv Sethu quickly moved to 6th place after lap 1. From thereon, he continued to maintain his position until he fell in lap 5 due to wet racetrack.
