The Spaniard, who lost against Berrettini in straight sets in the fourth round of this year's Australian Open, avenged that defeat with a 6-3, 6-2 victory. The 26-year old Berrettini is working his way back from March right hand surgery, which has limited him to just four tournaments since Indian Wells. Covid-19 also forced him to miss Wimbledon. Busta took full advantage with a ruthless display of consistent aggression. The Spaniard prevented his opponent from finding a rhythm without risking too much himself.
Manisha Kalyan, Sunil Chhetri named 2021-22 AIFF Footballers of the Year

Manisha Kalyan and Sunil Chhetri have been named as the 2021-22 AIFF Women's Footballer of the Year and the 2021-22 Men's Footballer of the Year, respectively. The two stalwarts were nominated as winners by their respective national team coaches Thomas Dennerby, and Igor Stimac. While Manisha had won the Women's Emerging Footballer of the Year for last season, while this is the 7th time that Sunil won the award, having last won it in 2018-19.
Chess Olympiad: Uzbekistan wins Open section gold, Ukraine in Women's section

The 14th-seeded Uzbekistan team won the gold medal while Armenia and India-2 team won the silver and bronze in the Open section of the 44th Chess Olympiad held here, the International Chess Federation (FIDE) said. According to FIDE, Ukraine is the winner of the gold in the women's section. The India-2 team, composed of young players, won against Germany in the 11th and final round 3-1.
Defeating West Indies in T20I series is a big achievement for India: Manjrekar

It was the first time Williams, in only her second appearance of the year, had won a singles match since beating Danielle Collins at Roland Garros on June 4, 2021. Wimbledon champion, Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina also won her first match since her triumph at the All England Club, although she needed three hours to overcome Marie Bouzkova of the Czech Republic 7-5, 6-7, 6-1.

The Indian contingent, comprising mostly of officials and some athletes like members of the TT squad, was led by flagbearers boxer Nikhat Zareen and top shuttler Sharad Kamal. The ceremony, which celebrates the success of 11 days of sporting action that encouraged sportspersons to compete in the spirit of sportsmanship to test their strength, stamina and endurance, had the athletes grooving to the music, letting their hair down to end a two-week journey which they completed with all seriousness. The Games were declared closed by Earl of Wessex on behalf of Her Majesty, the Queen.
