CWG 2022: Indian women's hockey team loses to England 1-3
The Indian women's hockey team, which has lost to England in the Olympic Games bronze medal match also, conceded early goals and were down 0-3 before getting a lone consolation goal in fourth quarter. Achanta Sharath Kamal lost for the first time in the tournament but Harmeet Desai and G Sathiyan first won doubles and then registered victories in their respective singles matches as India beat Singapore 3-1 in the CWG 2022 to defend their gold medal from 2018. Earlier in the match G Stahiyan defeated Koen Pang 12-10, 7-11, 11-7, 11-4 to make it 2-1 in the favour of India.

However, she recovered well to successfully lift the same weight in her second attempt and then went on to equal her personal best and national record of 98kg in snatch in the final attempt to keep herself in a medal hunt.

It was an even start to the final, as India took the lead after the first end but South Africa went ahead after the second. Thereafter, in-form Indian surged ahead to a 8-2 lead by the seventh end. But, it could not score a single point over the next four ends as South Africa roared back into contention, levelling the scores 8-8 after the 10th end.
Asia Cup 2022 schedule announced, India to face Pakistan on August 28
The schedule for the 15th edition of the Asian tournament was officially announced by Jay Shah, chairman of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) on Twitter. Ten out of the thirteen games including the final on September 11 are set to be played in Dubai, with the rest to take place in Sharjah. UAE, Kuwait, Singapore and Hong Kong will play a qualifying round with the winner joining India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh in the main tournament.
