HP India unveils OMEN Playground stores for gamers
The company plans to open 40 OMEN Playground stores across the country this year. As of now, eight OMEN Playground stores are functioning in seven cities. The technology company unveiled eight OMEN Playground stores in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Thiruvananthapuram, Ludhiana and Hubli and will soon expand its network of OMEN Playground stores in cities.
Italy's cyber agency warns of huge global attack
According to the Agency, a massive ransomware hacking attack has compromised thousands of computers around the world, reports the Euro Weekly News. Servers have been compromised globally, including in the US, Canada, Finland, and France, as per Italian news outlet ANSA, citing the ACN. Moreover, the report said that organisations throughout Italy are very likely to have been affected by this attack.
Top US cybersecurity diplomat's Twitter account hacked
In a tweet, Fick said that "My account has been hacked. Perils of the job." It was not clear who was responsible for the hack or if cyber-criminals posted anything derogatory from his personal account. CEO impersonation fraud threatening IT firms: Report
CloudSEK analysts found a spear phishing campaign targeting multiple corporations wherein a specific form of a message purportedly coming from superiors or CEOs may actually be a fraud. In these messages, the threat actor pretends to be the company's CEO and sends a WhatsApp message to employees (mostly top-level executives) on their personal phone numbers.
Users report iCloud Backup issues after iOS 16.3 update
The instances follow the update to iOS 16.3 which made security changes to enable physical security keys to be used to secure accounts and expanding Advanced Data Protection outside of the US. According to the users' reports, they observe a message stating, "An Unexpected Error Occurred. Please try again later."
Twitter fixes bug that showed users 'this tweet is unavailable': Musk
When a user queried: "Is it just us seeing 'this tweet is unavailable' on more and more quote tweets in the feed, but when you click on it, the tweet appears? @TwitterSupport @elonmusk." Musk replied: "We think we fixed this bug today. Please lmk if you're still seeing it." Several users shared their status related to the bug on Musk's post.
WhatsApp rolls out ability to create avatars on iOS
Some users may already be able to configure an avatar on the previous update, but it is rolling out to even more people, according to WABetaInfo. Users will need to open WhatsApp Settings in order to discover if the feature is already enabled for their account. Moreover, in the latest update, the messaging platform introduced the ability to record videos hands-free by swiping left inside the WhatsApp camera.
Centre bans over 200 Chinese apps
According to the information, the MeitY was recently instructed by the MHA to ban such apps, which operate through a third party link.
