According to SamMobile, it will allow devices to update their root certificates, or digital certificate that belongs to the issuing authority, on the fly, as root certificates on Android devices can currently only be updated via system updates. Industry hails move to make MeitY as nodal ministry for online gaming

In a notification, the Centre said that matters related to online gaming will now be taken care of by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). An inter-ministerial task force, set up by the MeitY to regulate online gaming, had in October proposed the creation of a central regulatory body for the sector, clearly defining what games of skill and chance are.

WhatsApp to end support for bunch of old Samsung phones

The devices include the Galaxy Ace 2, Galaxy Core, Galaxy S2, Galaxy S3 Mini, Galaxy Trend II, Galaxy Trend Lite and Galaxy Xcover 2. All of these devices were upgraded to Android 4.x, which was their last major Android OS update. WhatsApp will stop working on these phones after December 31, 2022, according to the report.
