Apple likely to launch iPhone SE, Mac mini on March 8 event
Tech giant Apple has announced it will be holding a spring special event on March 8 that will focus on a 5G-equipped iPhone SE and an update to the Mac mini. The event will start at 10 a.m. Pacific Time and will be viewable through the normal video streaming venues. This will be Apple's first special event of 2022, following after the Unleashed event from October 18, reports AppleInsider.

Fitbit recalls millions of 'Ionic' smartwatches after battery burn reports
Google-owned wearable brand Fitbit on Wednesday said it is recalling its 'Ionic' smartwatch following reports of an overheating battery and potential burn injury.There were 118 reports of burns, with two reports of third-degree burns and four reports of second-degree burns.
Twitter may be adding built-in podcasts tab
Micro-blogging site Twitter is likely building a tab dedicated to podcasts, as shown in a screenshot posted by reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong. The screenshot does not show any indication of how podcasts could be displayed on the platform or if it will somehow incorporate Spaces, the platform's audio-only chatrooms. Right now, live Spaces are stuffed at the top of Twitter feeds, and it would make sense to organize them into a separate tab.

Tim Cook tells employees to donate for Ukraine relief
Apple CEO Tim Cook has said that the tech giant will match employee donations two-to-one in an email sent to employees addressing the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. Cook mentioned that Apple will do so retroactively for donations made since February 25, reports The Verge. Cook said that Apple is working to support their teams in Ukraine and across the region.

Insta makes encrypted direct messaging available in Ukraine, Russia
Meta has announced that it is making encrypted one-to-one chats in photo-sharing service Instagram available to users in both Ukraine and Russia. Users on Instagram will be alerted to the option via a notification that will appear at the top of their direct message inbox. The notification will inform the users to switch over to an encrypted conversation if they wish to.
