France fines Google, FB a combined $238 mn over cookie tracking
Following investigations, the Commission Nationale de I'informatique et Des Liberte (CNIL) noted that the websites facebook.com, google.fr and youtube.com do not make refusing cookies as easy as to accept them. "It thus fines Facebook 60 million euros and Google 150 million euros and orders them to comply within three months," the regulator said in a statement late on Thursday.
Xiaomi patents all-screen fingerprint scanner
Xiaomi in the patent showcased how the technology works in that it will have an array of infrared LED light transmitters underneath the capacitive touch-screen layer and above the normal AMOLED display, reports GizmoChina. Back in August 2020, Huawei submitted a patent of all-screen fingerprinting technology in six markets, including China, Europe, the US, Japan, Korea, and India.
