In the month of September, 3.65 billion transactions worth Rs 6,54,351 crore were recorded. Major UPI players in India currently are PhonePe, IPO-bound Paytm and Google Pay. PhonePe continues to dominate transactions -- almost half the market size at 47 per cent, followed by Google Pay at 35 per cent. The current figures are dismal for the Mark Zuckerberg-run platform.
Apple to offer free AirPods with iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini

Apple has published details of the festive offer on its India store page. It has also been mentioned that the offer will begin on October 7. "Buy iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 mini and get AirPods on us," the company wrote on the page. The 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini, the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 were launched with 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage variants in blue, green, black, white and red colours, starting at Rs 79,900 and Rs 69,900, respectively.

Samsung removes ads from Samsung Pay, Health apps

Users in the Samsung Community Forums found that ads had suddenly disappeared from the Samsung Pay app and an investigation from the folks over at TizenHelp unearthed a comment from a Samsung employee that confirms some good news. As of October 1, Samsung has stopped serving ads to Samsung Pay and Samsung Health, 9To5Google reported.

Starlink Country director for India Sanjay Bhargava said that pre-orders have crossed the 5,000 mark in India while stating that the aim is to have 2,00,000 terminals active by the end of 2022. For the pre-order, Starlink is charging Rs 7,350 or $99 for the beta version of its broadband, where the company will offer a speed varying between 50 and 150 megabits per second.
Google halts plans for Google Pay-based banking service
