Apple opens pre-orders for iPhone 13 series in India from Friday
The new iPhones will be open for pre-order at 5.30 p.m. through the Apple online store, e-commerce sites, and offline channels. All the four new iPhones will be available from September 24. The company unveiled the iPhone 13 series at the 'California Streaming' event on Tuesday. The pre-orders will go live in over 30 countries across the globe, including India, Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Japan, the UK, and the US.
iPhone 13 Pro offers 55% better graphics performance than iPhone 12 Pro
The iPhone 13 Pro was benchmarked, and it obtained 14216 points in the GPU category. In comparison, the iPhone 12 Pro from last year with its A14 Bionic accumulated 9123 points in the same test, reports MacRumors. The GPU included in the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max's A15 Bionic chip is about 55 per cent more powerful than the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max's GPU.
Vivo X70 series set to launch in India on Sep 30: Report
The X70 lineup consists of three smartphones -- X70, X70 Pro and X70 Pro+. But it appears that Vivo will skip the vanilla model this time in the country since the promo page only includes the images of the Pro and Pro+ variants, GSMArena reported on Thursday. The company also confirmed that the Indian X70 Pro and X70 Pro+ will feature ZEISS T coating and Ultra-Sensing Gimbal Camera.
Samsung to hold developer conference online in Oct
The South Korean tech giant said it decided to hold the Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) on October 26. The event was canceled last year due to Covid-19 concerns. The SDC, which started in 2013, is an annual event that brings thousands of developers, content creators, and designers to discuss future technologies and services.
Google Pixel Fold likely to launch in late 2021
According to GSMArena, the Google Pixel Fold will use an LTPO OLED display. Google is expected to launch its Pixel 6 series on October 19 and has already provided an early look at the duo's designs and specs but the Pixel Fold was not mentioned to this point, the report said. A recent report suggests that the Pixel 6 Pro is tipped to feature a display panel with a resolution of 1,440x3,120 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate.
Apple launches App Store marketing tools for developers
The launch of the new marketing tools comes ahead of the release of iOS 15 and watchOS 8. In a post on its Developer website, Apple explained that the new marketing tools make it easy for developers to create assets such as banners and images to promote their applications, reports 9To5Mac. In just a few clicks, developers can build custom assets, including app icons, a QR code, or an App Store badge, the report said.
FB's new policy for fighting 'coordinated social harm'
The company said the change could help the platform fight harmful behaviour it wouldn't otherwise be able to fully address under its existing rules, reports Engadget. Unlike "coordinated inauthentic behaviour", which is Facebook's policy for dealing with harm that comes from networks of fake accounts, coordinated social harm gives the company a framework to address harmful actions from legitimate accounts, the report said.
GoPro Hero 10 Black with new GP2 processor launched in India
The GoPro Hero 10 Black will be available in India in early November for Rs 54,500. It will be available to purchase via Amazon, Flipkart, Croma, and select retail stores. The preceding GoPro Hero 9 Black will continue to be sold at a reduced price of Rs. 43,000, while GoPro Hero 8 Black will retail for Rs 31,000. "Hero 10 Black is one of the most impressive cameras in the world, regardless of price," GoPro founder and CEO Nicholas Woodman said in a statement.

The Consumers' Foundation has accused Apple of exploiting consumers with the lack of chargers, reports AppleInsider. According to the group, although Apple's environmental motivation was not invalid, the move also infringed on consumer rights since chargers are "essential" to operating a phone, the report added.
