48MP & above rear camera demand grow globally: Report

According to market research firm Counterpoint, for the front main camera, the share of 16MP and above megapixel counts edged down to 33.2 per cent, down 0.7 percentage points from Q4 2020. "With 5G capability spreading to lower price segments, the cost of a smartphone RF front-end subsystem alone has increased by 50 per cent with additional frequency band support," Alicia Gong, Research Analyst, said in a statement.
OnePlus admits app throttling to 'improve' device performance

Samsung takes nearly half of smartphone memory market in Q1

Apple rejects Facebook report that claims default apps dominate platforms

The study by US-based media measurement and analytics company Comscore and commissioned by Facebook showed that 75 per cent of the top 20 apps on iOS in the US were made by Apple, while Google made 60 per cent of the top apps on Android. However, an Apple spokesperson called the report "narrowly tailored" and "seriously flawed", reports The Verge.
'M2' chip to arrive in early 2022 in MacBook Air: Report

OnePlus Nord 2 5G to have new AI Dimensity chip

To highlight the new AI capabilities of the chipset, OnePlus and MediaTek have chosen the name Dimensity 1200-AI to distinguish it from the standard Dimensity 1200.
