Porsche has added another member to its Black Edition series with the launch of Taycan 4S Black Edition in India, which is priced at ₹2.07 crore (ex-showroom).
The end price can go even higher depending on chosen optional packs. In comparison to the regular Taycan 4S, this variant has a price premium of ₹11 lakh. Similar to the Cayenne Black Edition, this new model introduces unique styling updates both within and without.
Exterior-wise, the Taycan 4S Black Edition boasts a number of distinctive visual flourishes. Major items like the front apron, side skirts, rear diffuser, and lower sections of the outside rearview mirrors are all given a high-gloss black finish. Porsche has also tinted the model's badging and lettering to coincide with the overall stealthy look. Eclipsing this all-black theme are 21-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels in gloss black. Even the headlamp housings sport a smoked color to enhance the boldness of the car.
They can opt from 13 base exterior colors, varying from traditional shades such as Black, White, and Jet Black Metallic, to brightening hues like Carmine Red, Provence (light lavender color), Frozenberry Metallic (delicate pink), and Purple Sky Metallic. They may also opt for Ice Grey Metallic, Volcano Grey Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic, Gentian Blue Metallic, Neptune Blue, and Frozenblue Metallic.
Within the interior of the cabin, the configuration is as standard for the Taycan 4S but with the Black Edition having exclusive interior upholstery options. Consumers may choose from two Race-Tex (Alcantara and leatherette) colors in black or two solid leather finishes, one of them also in black. Dual-tone interior sets are also optional.
Equipment-wise, the Taycan 4S Black Edition is well-stocked. It features a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), 14-way electrically adjusting front seats, four-zone automatic climate control, and a premium 14-speaker Bose audio system delivering 710W of audio output.
Mechanically, the Black Edition is the same as the standard Taycan 4S. It is equipped with a 105kWh battery (97kWh usable) that has a WLTP-certified range of 668km. Power is transmitted to all four wheels through a two-motor system, which generates an overall output of 598bhp and 710Nm of torque. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. With a 320kW DC fast charger, the Taycan can take as little as 18 minutes to charge.
