Tata Motors Slashes Prices of Cars and SUVs by Up to Rs 1.55 Lakh Starting September 22

The new prices will take effect from September 22, coinciding with the rollout of the new GST rates.

Tata Motors revealed on Friday that it will pass the full benefit of the recent GST reduction on passenger cars to its customers directly.

The decrease in GST on passenger vehicles, effective from September 22, is a progressive and timely step that will bring personal mobility within reach of millions in India," the company said.

Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, underlined that the reduction in GST is a visionary step that will increase the affordability of personal mobility for millions in India.

He went on to emphasize that the company is dedicated to completely fulfilling the government's intention by making certain the customers reap fully from the reduction in the GST.

"Paralleling the vision of the Prime Minister, the Finance Minister's intention and our Customer First approach, Tata Motors will completely abide by the intention and spirit of the reform by transmitting the full benefit of the relief in GST to our customers," said Chandra.

This will make our bestselling range of cars and SUVs even more within reach in segments, making it possible for first-time buyers and bringing forward the transition to new age mobility for a broader group of customers," he further added.

Tata's well-established cars and SUVs will therefore experience significant price cuts. Depending on the car, customers could save between Rs 65,000 and Rs 1.55 lakh.

The price of the Tiago will come down by as much as Rs 75,000, and the Tigor will be priced lower by up to Rs 80,000, the company said.

The Altroz will be priced lower by as much as Rs 1.10 lakh, Punch by up to Rs 85,000, and the Nexon—its biggest-selling SUV—by up to Rs 1.55 lakh.

The recently introduced Curvv will also gain from a maximum price cut of Rs 65,000. In the larger SUV segment, the Harrier will be available at a maximum price cut of Rs 1.40 lakh and the Safari at a maximum price cut of Rs 1.45 lakh.

Tata Motors further stated that the company is expecting robust demand ahead of the festive season and has urged customers to pre-book their cars in advance to receive their vehicles on time.
