Yamaha has launched the new FZ X Hybrid motorcycle in India at ₹1,49,990 (ex-showroom). Taking design and technology from the recently released FZ-S Hybrid, the FZ X Hybrid presents significant updates in fuel efficiency, performance, and the convenience of the rider.
Propelling the Yamaha FZ X Hybrid is also the same 149cc engine used on other variants of the FZ series. This single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected, 4-stroke SOHC engine comes mated to a 5-speed transmission. The powerplant produces a top power of 12.4 hp at 7,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 13.3 Nm at 5,500 rpm.
What distinguishes the Hybrid model is the added technologies that enhance both performance and fuel efficiency. The Smart Motor Generator (SMG) provides smoother and quieter starts, and the Stop & Start System (SSS) automatically shuts off the engine at standstill and swiftly starts it again as the clutch is taken out—leading to better mileage and lower emissions.
Among its technological features, the FZ X Hybrid boasts a 4.2-inch full-color TFT screen that allows smartphone pairing using Yamaha's Y-Connect application. The system also provides Turn-by-Turn directions using Google Maps, making the riding experience more enjoyable for city commuters.
The safety features also consist of single-channel ABS and traction control, providing the rider more confidence on all types of terrains and road conditions.
FZ X Hybrid has been introduced for ₹1.50 lakh ex-showroom price, providing customers with a sophisticated yet frugal two-wheeler choice in the space. For those looking for a cheaper option, Yamaha still retails the entry-level non-hybrid FZ X version at a price of ₹1,29,990 (ex-showroom).
