DU teachers unhappy with new academic calendar, say studies will be compromised
The teachers stated that the students have not been given enough time to prepare for the examination and the syllabus in the new calendar, according to which, the first year classes are to start from November 2 and Semester 2 classes will start from March 20, 2023.

Eligible candidates who have appeared for the Exam conducted in June can check their results through the official site of IGNOU at ignou.ac.in. This year, the exams were conducted by the IGNOU for various programmes from July 20, 2022. According to the official website, if any student is found to be booked under unfair means, the result of the particular student will be Cancelled.

Earlier the last date was October 10, now the candidates can apply till 4.59 pm, October 12, 2022. “In the larger interest of the candidates who are still in the process of deciding their preferences, the University has extended the last date of Phase I and Phase II by two days. Phase I and Phase II of CSAS will now be open for candidates till 04:59 P.M. Wednesday, October 12, 2022,” the official press release of Delhi University stated.
Delhi University to release first merit list on October 18
The university has decided to extend the registration deadline for admission by two days. Now, candidates can apply for admission in Delhi University till October 12. The first merit will be released at 5 p.m. on the day (October 18), while the students can claim admission on the basis of the merit list till 5 p.m. on October 21.
India wants Australia to partner in education after NEP

Autonomy for colleges; no nominee from varsity, UGC required in committees
The UGC is expected to make it public in a few days for stakeholder's feedback. After the autonomy, there will be no, or just a few nominees of UGC and Universities in the high level committees of the colleges. Also, there will be less interference in the functioning of the college. The regulations will be finalised after receiving feedback from the stakeholders.
BYJU's says incorrect map of India with its logo a malicious attempt
In a statement to IANS, the edtech major said that this is a fake image and not its material. "All our content is watermarked and additionally our logo usage is incorrect, we never use an underline below the logo. We strongly condemn the incorrect map of India that is being distributed maliciously with our incorrect logo placed on it," the company spokesperson said. A Twitter user posted: "It is a fake image".
Falling rupee makes studying abroad costlier
The increase in tuition fees in the US, the UK and Australia by 10 to 20 per cent is another reason behind the costlier education abroad. Also, the airfares have increased in recent times, which has added burden on students studying abroad. Adding to the woes, the visas of lakhs of Indian students have not been approved in countries like the US, the UK, Canada and Australia.
Indian students to benefit the most as Canada allows more than 20-hour work
Making this announcement, Immigration Minister Sean Fraser said the temporary lifting of the 20-hour per week cap for the eligible post-secondary students will help in economic recovery and growth. The students will be allowed to work for more than 20 hours from November 15, 2022, till the end of 2023.
UGC NET 2022: Admit card released for Oct 8, 10 exams, Check out details here
Eligible candidates can download their hall ticket from the official website - ugcnet.nta.nic.in. Registered candidates would be required to enter their application number and date of birth to have access to their account for hall tickets. The UGC NET exam will be held in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. Candidates are required to carry their admit card with them at the time of examination, as no one will be allowed to enter the examination hall without showing their hall tickets.
