Oxford University to launch Pandemic Sciences Centre

The Pandemic Sciences Centre, which will include a number of core institutes, will focus on generating actionable knowledge and data (from pathogens through to patients) in near 'real-time' and making this globally accessible; translating research into real-world solutions; and identifying ways to strengthen societal and political engagement, resilience, and responsiveness.
'Be optimistic for a resolution': SC agrees to hear plea seeking Class XII board exam cancellation

A bench comprising Justices A.M. Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari said: "Please be optimistic. There may be some resolution by Monday." The bench fixed the matter for further hearing Monday while asking the petitioner to serve copies of the plea on the two boards as well as the central government.

As per the announcement, tests will be held only for the compulsory subjects, while the schools will give marks for the additional subjects based on internal assessment. "We understand the importance of these two examinations and so we are the first state to announce the schedule. Higher Secondary examination will be held ahead of Madhyamik in the last week of July."
Rajasthan Board to conduct Class 10, 12 Boards when Covid graph flattens

"Cancellation of exams will be unfair for those students who have studied hard to get admission in their dream institutes. "Also, there needs to be a proper criteria to evaluate the performance of students. So we are looking for a favourable situation to conduct the exams," he said speaking exclusively to IANS.
AMU to hold online exams in June

According to an official release, the examination of all first-semester undergraduate and postgraduate students admitted in session 2020-21 at the Aligarh Muslim University will be held next month while for the students of final / intermediate semester will commence from June 1.
JEE Advanced exam postponed due to surge in Covid cases

Since the JEE Mains examination could not be held at the scheduled time (May 24-28), so the JEE Advanced examination, which was going to be held on July 3, has also been postponed, the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur announced. The Union Education Ministry had decided to conduct the JEE Mains examination four times in the current year.
Class 12 board exams should be held eventually: Bihar minister

"Exams play a crucial role in the life of the students and will be remembered for the rest of their life. Hence, the CBSE and other boards should think of organising exams in the country. The present situation is not ideal to organise examinations but it can announce the date at least. The CBSE also has an option of taking online examinations of Class 12,"

LUTA has written to Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Higher Education, Dinesh Sharma , urging him not to implement the CMS as it is not at par with the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The higher education department had drafted the CMS for state universities last year after the central government issued NEP, and uploaded it on its website.
