Shut down Telegram group for undue help during open book exams: DU

Open book examinations in Delhi University have started from Monday and have been conducted only for the final year students. These examinations have been conducted for all the three categories of students -- Regular, School of Open Learning (SOL) and Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board (NCWEB).
No minimum marks for Karnataka entrance test: Minister

"PUC students don't need minimum marks for the CET on August 28-30 to get a seat in engineering and medical colleges in 2021-22 academic year," state deputy chief minister C.N. Ashwath Narayan told reporters here. Narayan is also in-charge of the state higher education department. CET will be held at designated centres across the state under the Covid-induced guidelines in maths and biology on August 28 and physics.
Assam to hold Class X, XII board exams with reduced subjects

After holding meetings with all the stakeholders, including students' bodies and teachers, on Tuesday, Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu told the media that before holding the High School Leaving Certification (HSLC or Class X) and higher secondary (Class XII) examinations, all the invigilators and staff involved in the entire process would be vaccinated.
Mamata announces cancellation of Class X, XII board exams

The evaluation process for the students will be decided by the respective boards in consultation with the expert committee and the state education department, which will be announced within seven days. "We had formed an expert committee and majority of its members are of the view that given the pandemic situation, the students should not be allowed to go to schools to appear for the exams.

According to a BHU spokesman, among the major decisions approved by the executive council, the proposal of utilising the varsity's property in Shimla was on top. Another major proposal was to set up a world class auditorium on campus. The members approved a proposal given by Sanganeria Foundation to build this auditorium of 1,000-seat capacity.

US students who took Covaxin, Sputnik V, asked to get re-vaccinated

US college students who have been inoculated with India's indigenous Covaxin or the Russian-made Sputnik V are being asked to re-vaccinate as these vaccines have not yet been approved by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Tamil Nadu cancels Class 12 board exams

In a statement, Stalin said discussions were held with experts and cross sections of the society on holding the exams for 12th standard students. While there were differing views, all were of the unanimous view that the student's health should be safeguarded. The Central government has recently cancelled the Class 12exams for students studying under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) stream and several state governments have also cancelled the exam in their states, Stalin said.
CBSE sets up 12 member committee to decide criteria for Class 12 results

The committee, which comprises Joint Secretary Education, Vipin Kumar, Commissioners of the Kendriya and Navodaya Vidyalayas, and representatives from the CBSE, and UGC among other, will have to submit its report in 10 days. The Centre on Tuesday had decided to cancel the CBSE Class 12 board exams for 2021, in view of the Covid situation.
