Astronomy HR Head Resigns After Being Spotted on Coldplay 'Kiss Cam' with CEO Andy Byron

Her departure comes on the heels of Andy Byron, who departed the company last week after Astronomer announced he would be put on leave and facing an internal investigation. Co-founder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy took over as CEO in the meantime.

Astronomer's Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot, has apparently resigned after her widely seen cameo on the Coldplay concert "kiss cam" with the firm's previous CEO, Andy Byron. In a statement given to the BBC, the firm verified that Cabot resigned and is no longer working at the company.

To date, neither Cabot nor Astronomer has officially released an official statement publicly confirming her departure.

The alleged incident occurred on July 16 at a Coldplay concert outside Boston, Massachusetts. During the concert's "kiss cam," Cabot and Byron were caught embracing and dancing to the music on the stadium's jumbotron. The couple soon ducked out of sight, leading frontman Chris Martin to quip, "Either they're having an affair, or they're just very shy."

The incident soon turned viral, going on to gain millions of views and having online users identify the pair. Though Astronomer never directly referenced the clip, the firm later went on to put out a notice of an internal review and declared that its CEO would be put on administrative leave while the case was investigated.

Only days thereafter, on July 20, Astronomer made a formal announcement: "Andy Byron has resigned, and the Board of Directors has approved. The Board will initiate a search for our next Chief Executive as Co-founder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy remains interim CEO."

The firm—AI, data, and analytics specialists—acknowledged that the viral episode had put them in the public eye unexpectedly. Nevertheless, they assured customers that their priorities are unaffected.

"Overnight, awareness of our company shifted," the announcement said, "but not our product and work for our customers."
