The 93 episodes of the series netted more than 18.3 billion minutes of streaming during the year, according to the measurement firm's year-end report. That put it well in front of the 16.4 billion notched up by 'Squid Game', but the Korean phenomenon had only nine episodes on Netflix in 2021. Three non-Netflix shows made the originals chart: 'The Handmaid's Tale' on Hulu, 'Ted Lasso' on Apple TV+ and 'Wandavision' on Disney+.

The statement issued on Friday read: "Manish Shah, promoter of Goldmines [Telefilms], along with the makers of 'Shehzada' have jointly decided to withdraw the theatrical release of 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' Hindi version. 'Shehzada' makers are thankful to Manish Shah for agreeing to the same." Goldmines Telefilms, incidentally, had picked up the Hindi rights of the Allu Arjun blockbuster, 'Pushpa: The Rise'.

'RRR' to hit the big screen on March 18, or April 28
Taking to social media, the producers listed March 18 as the release date, provided theatres are allowed full occupancy by then. The alternative date is April 28, "if the pandemic situation does not improve" before that. The movie starring Telugu stars Ram Charan and NTR, with Ajay Devgan and Aliya Bhatt essaying crucial roles, was supposed to be released on January 7.
Aamir-Kareena's 'Laal Singh Chaddha' slotted for Baisakhi release
The statement comes after multiple reports surfaced on the Internet claiming that the release had been pushed back. To quash the rumours, the production house took to its social media handle on Friday. Its statement read: "Aamir Khan Productions' Laal Singh Chaddha's release date stands as Baisakhi, 14th April 2022, contrary to some misleading stories."
