Bengal to vote in 8 phases, Assam in 3, TN, Kerala, Puducherry in single phase

The Election Commission on Friday announced the election dates for 824 assembly constituencies that will go to polls in four states and one union territory. Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora said that West Bengal will go to polls in 8 phases and Assam in three phases while Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry will have a single-phase election.
India asks China to resolve remaining boundary issues

The government stated this in an affidavit filed in reply to a petition by same-sex couples seeking enforcement of fundamental right of choice of partner. "Despite the decriminalisation of Section 377 of the IPC, the petitioners cannot claim a fundamental right for same-sex marriage being recognised under the laws of the country," the affidavit stated.

India, Pakistan agree for strict observance of all LoC agreements

Govt comes up with stricter norms for social media, OTT

Union Minister for Electronics and IT, Ravi Shankar Prasad said that social media platforms will be classified under two categories - social media intermediaries and significant social media intermediaries - with the latter being subject to greater obligations.
