Notice to Bobby Deol, Prakash Jha in plea against web series 'Ashram'

Issuing the notice, the Jodhpur District and Sessions Court scheduled the next hearing on January 11. Advocate Khush Khandelwal said he had moved the court against Jha's web series in which Bobby Deol is portrayed as a godman and Hindu gurus have been shown as rapists and drug traffickers. This web series has hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus, he claimed.

On October 15, the Supreme Court had sought response from Facebook/WhatsApp, Google, Amazon and the Centre on Viswam's seeking protection of data of transactions made over UPIs. The plea said that the RBI and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) instead of fulfilling their statutory obligations are compromising the interest of Indian users by allowing the non-compliant foreign entities to operate its payment services in India.

AIIMS nurses on indefinite strike from Monday against contract terms
